The D. W. Steele Sr Memorial Chapter of the Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) is pleased to announce our Virginia Suite will be in operation once again this September! We need your assistance in the form of sponsorships for the Virginia Suite to be a success during the Air, Space & Cyber Conference (ASC) 10-13 September 2023.
Thanks to the strong support of our industry partners, for years we have hosted the premier hospitality suite in room 4-101 during the ASC Conference. We bring together AFA members, industry leaders, congressional delegates, international delegations, DoD, Air Force, Space Force civilian and military leaders, as well as the Air Force’s 12 Outstanding Airmen. Your support also enables us to continue our involvement in Aerospace Education programs in primary and secondary schools throughout Virginia, as well as AFJRTOC, SFJROTC, AFROTC, Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings, Civil Air Patrol Squadrons and our chapter and Virginia State Teacher of the Year programs. Since 2000, the Virginia Suite has raised over $120,000 on behalf of Virginia AFA Aerospace Education programs. Thank you for your past support!
This year, we will return to the Gaylord Resort in National Harbor, MD. The Virginia Suite will be available Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons starting at 4:30 PM until 6:00 PM. On Monday and Wednesday evenings, the Virginia Suite will be available after dinner concludes. Various AFA state volunteers will be on hand each evening to ensure smooth operations.
On Tuesday evening, the Virginia Suite has already been reserved for the 7th Annual Missileer Gathering, requiring tickets for entry. All sponsors will receive two tickets to the event, with the remainder going to the active duty Missileers (missile ops, maintenance, and acquisition).
Additionally, the Steele Chapter is a registered commemorative partner with OSD’s Vietnam War Commemoration. In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War and the return of our former POWs, the Steele Chapter was fortunate to be a sponsor to the Gold Star Family’s day-long program on 10 May in the DAR’s Constitution Hall, as part of the Camp Legacy program conducted on the National Mall in May. We are dedicating a portion of this year’s sponsorships from the Virginia Suite to Steele’s ongoing Vietnam Veterans recognition programs that carry into the year 2024.
